Forgiveness

For if you forgive people their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (Mat 6:14)

6:15 But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.”

Mat chapter 18 verse 23> is a symbolic story of how we have to forgive in our turn to our ‘debtors’ or those who have trespassed against us. If we do not show mercy, God can cancel His mercy on us.

The Bible emphasizes that believers are destined to become like Jesus: Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. (Mat 11:29). 1 Jhn 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when Christ is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.

While on the earth, the apostles were humble and modest as was their example. They did the work according to their profession to get their daily living without requiring money or other special treatment. That is, they were already like Christ. When Christ appears for the second time, they shall see the glory of Christ in his external being.
