Predictions about Jesus

About his birth: Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Mic 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come forth to me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

As a little boy in Egypt: Hos 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

The Son of God: Psa 2:7-8 I will tell of the decree: Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

John the Baptist, predecessor of Jesus: Mal 3:1 Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, behold, he comes!” says Jehovah of hosts.

How did Jesus teach: Psa 78:2  I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old. Also Mat 13:35: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.” Mar 4:34 Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples, he explained all things.

Healed the blind and deaf: Isa 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Mat 11:5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

Jesus spoke what God commanded: Deut 18:18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

The Jews rejected Jesus: Isa 53:3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we didn’t respect him.

He was tortured: Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is mute, so he didn’t open his mouth.

Jesus was beaten: Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the strikers, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair; I didn’t hide my face from shame and spitting.
The clothes of Jesus were divided: Psa 22:18 They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.

Jesus’ body was pierced: Zec 12:10 I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

The bones of Jesus are not broken: Psa 34:20 He protects all of his bones. Not one of them is broken.

Jesus rose from the dead: Psa 16:10 For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.

Much of the Bible’s content, perhaps as much as one third, are predictions based on the words of God’s prophets. The prophets spoke and wrote down what God had commanded them to speak and write. We can start from the following assumption: if several prophets tell the same thing and if it comes true, it is a miracle. The miracles of the Bible can be denied because there is no proof other than the Bible’s account. Many prophets of the Bible tell us about Jesus, from his birth to his death and resurrection, and the events of his second coming – parousia.

Jewish scholars knew the predictions of the coming Messiah and so did the apostles who wrote the New Testament. In theory, it would be possible that the disciples would have together decided to make up the story of Jesus’ life in line with predictions. Why would they have done so? If they had something to gain from this, it could be possible. However, they did not profit materially. On the contrary, they were subjected to ridicule and persecution and lost their lives because of their faith. But let the reader decide whether such conspiracy is true or do predictions through the prophets of God, prove his Son’s birth and life and his message.
